COMPELSON Labs joined forces with IBM to create the universal voice recognition phone control kit for cars. It allows you to have complete control of your phone without pressing a button. The most remarkable thing about the system is that it is compliant with hundreds of phones and the voice recognition is speaker independent. It is not necessary to spend time training the program to understand your unique voice and each of your contact names. It simply recognizes all of them. You can not only call contacts, but also send text messages, listen to received messages, and organize information, all while driving. Simply say "Read all messages" and it will read all of them aloud. You can say to delete old messages, reply, call back, etc.
The Intelligent Handsfree saves time for car drivers and also keeps them safe. Current Bluetooth headsets are only beneficial for calls, so they have not completely helped the safety problem. Drivers often receive messages while in the car and these are very tempting to read. This is a dangerous activity because the driver's eyes are taken off the road. However, with the Intelligent Handsfree, the message is read to you so you can simply listen without touching the phone. This both saves time and prevents car accidents for drivers.
The phone can be connected with the kit via Bluetooth or cable. An added benefit of a cable connection is that the phone will be simultaneously charging.
The Intelligent Voice Recognition Handsfree was developed by combining COMPELSON's phone control technology called MOBILedit! with IBM's know-how in voice recognition-Embedded ViaVoice. The solution is also available as a license for manufacturers of hardware boxes to cars.
