Q: What are the system requirements?
The minimum system requirements for running MOBILedit! are:
- CPU: Equal to Pentium 300 MHz or above
- RAM: 256 MB or above
- HDD: 100 MB or above
- OS: Windows XP / 2003 / Vista / Windows 7
- A hardware to connect mobile devices with your computer (at least one of the mentioned)
- suitable cable
- (SIM Card reader)
Q: I made payment but I haven't received e-mail with the Activation Key.
If you didn't get the e-mail with the Activation Key within four days after payment, contact us
and send us Order Confirmation in attachment.
Q: I can't seem to install MOBILedit! (setup cannot start because of a system error; MOBILedit!.exe is not a valid Win32 application).
A: The install file wasn't downloaded correctly or the file is corrupted. Try to download the instalation file again and retry the instalation.
Q: I can't seem to install MOBILedit! (Setup cannot start because of system error)
A: You need to have administrator rights to install MOBILedit! Without administrator rights, it is impossible to install applications. Contact your local administrator to help you with the installation of MOBILedit!
Q: I purchased MOBILedit!, how do I activate it?
A: To activate MOBILedit!, select the Activate Product item in the Help menu. The Activation dialog will open up. Make sure you enter all the Activation data correctly - Name, Company and the Activation Key must be entered in exactly the same way as you received it. The activation process is case sensitive (i.e. be careful not to swap lower case letters with capital letters).
It is recommended to use Copy & Paste (CTRL+C; CTRL+V) to insert the information from the purchase confirmation to prevent any errors.

Q: How can I be sure that I'm using the latest version of MOBILedit!?
A: If you are not sure about which version you are using, click Check for updates... in the Help menu. If there is a newer version, the program will download it and install it automatically.

Q: My mobile phone is not listed on the list of supported phones. Is it possible to have it added?
Development of support of new mobile phones is constantly in progress. With every new version of MOBILedit! the list of supported phones is being extended. It is possible to make request by contacting our technical support
If you are a vendor or manufacturer, please mention that to us. We can expedite the development of the driver for you.
Q: When will MOBILedit! be available in other languages?
A: MOBILedit! is currently being developed simultaneously in English and Czech localization. There are currently no other language versions in active development. We do not plan adding other localizations at the moment.
Q: I can't synchronize contacts - Error 2B67: The phone is in inconsistent state..., what should i do?
: This error occurs mostly on new Sony Ericsson phones when trying to synchronize contacts via cable connection. Generally this seems to be problem of phones firmware and not a problem of our software. We have found a solution how to restart the phone that temporarily fixes the problem.
- Close MOBILedit! or any other application working with your phone
- Disconnect cable from phone, switch off the IrDA and Bluetooth
- Switch off the phone and wait about 30 seconds
- Switch the phone back on and wait till the phone boots up
- Connect the cable and run MOBILedit!
If this wont fix your problem, try to repeat steps above or prolong the waiting times. Otherwise contact Sony Ericsson service.
Q: How can I connect a smartphone (Windows Mobile device, iPhone, Symbian, Android)?

Q: MOBILedit! can't detect my phone in Wizard, what should I do?
A: There are several issues that can cause that a mobile device is not being detected by MOBILedit!:
If you are unable to connect your phone to MOBILedit!, you should check these hints. These are often the key to connect your device:
- Make sure your phone is supported.
Check the list of supported phones. Make sure to use only these connection types that are indicated as supported.
- Are you connecting a smartphone?
Smartphones like Android, iPhone or Symbian have a different interface and most models require installation of a small application that allows communication with the device. Please continue to the appropriate chapter: How to connect smartphones.
- Update the driver of your cable or Bluetooth stack.
The majority of connection problems are caused by incorrect or missing drivers. Please make sure that your driver is both up to date and correctly installed. You can download it from the phone manufacturer's website. It is also possible to use MOBILedit! cable driver pack, which can be downloaded here.
- Kill all other applications that may be using USB or Bluetooth ports.
Some PC suites run in the background of your system. We recommend using task manager to close running processes.
- Try another connection type.
Some phones cannot be connected via cable, but connection via Bluetooth is supported (and vice versa). Find your phone in the list of supported phones to determine if this is the case.
- Try to pair your phone using Windows Bluetooth Wizard (BlueTooth only).
After you already established Bluetooth connection in Windows and paired the devices, simply run MOBILedit! and the phone will be found immediately. If you are unable to pair your phone with Windows, then you should contact your computer administrator for help.
- Try MOBILedit! with your phone on another computer.
Some combinations of computer software installed on a PC may block communication between a phone and MOBILedit! This step will determine if this is the case.

Q: How can I install mobile applications using MOBILedit!
This feature has to be supported by the device first. If this operation is supported you can install it by clicking Install Application ... button in phone view screen. If you want to install APK file in Android phone, please continue here
Q: How can I copy pictures, music and other files in and out of my mobile phone using MOBILedit!?
Q: Incoming phone call shows only a number even if I have the contact in my phonebook.
You probably have the number saved without international prefix and that's why the name isn't shown during phone call. We recommend to use integrated Phonebook Optimizer
to amend this issue.
Q: I can't run MOBILedit! (Program data file is in use; MOBILedit! cannot be started multiple times on a single machine) and I can't see any MOBILedit! window.
A: Windows XP / 2003 / Vista / 7 users: Run Task Manager and switch to the Processes tab. Choose MOBILeditFramework.exe - main executable file of MOBILedit! and click the End Process button. MOBILedit! will be terminated after confirmation.
